Many such items were available as private purchase for use in the trenches. What's different about this is that it was an official WD issue. It is dated 1915 by William Edgar of Hammersmith, this appears both on the stove and its container.
The lid is WD stamped as is the container. You can unscrew the wick to renew it and this has a little cover on a chain to protect it. Excellent condition and the only WD one I've ever seen. | |
